Brandon Turner’s Best Bets: AFC Wild Card Playoffs

Writer: Interstate of GreenInterstate of Green

We ended the regular season 26-24-1 and ignored the weeks where teams started benching their starters. If you bet on games involving Matt Barkley, you are a degenerate. We’re going to give you our bets on each game of the playoffs. Buffalo Bills (+2.5) at Houston Texans This is supposed to be the game where the shine wears off the Bills magical season and we all come back down to earth. The Texans have Watson and Hopkins and teams like the bills aren’t supposed to beat them in the playoffs. The thing is for the second half of the season the Bills have looked like the better team. Yes, the Texans dealt with injuries, but Sean McDermott is simply a better Coach than O’Brien. This prediction could easily be ruined by Josh Allen’s terrible accuracy and decision making but for now I’m putting my money on the better team.

Tennessee Titans (+5) at New England Patriots Which team has looked better this season? The Tannehill/Henry offense of the Titans has been explosive, wearing teams down in the first half and piling points on in the second. Meanwhile the Patriots offense has been painful to watch. No one but Edelman consistently gets open, Sony Michel’s knees look like they’re ready to go any second, and Brady is starting to show his age. For the Patriots to win, it will take Belichick solving the Titans offense and putting together a masterful defensive game plan. Even if that does happen, and the game becomes low scoring, I’ll take the team getting spotted 5 points.
