The 13-2 Philadelphia Eagles play in their regular season finale against the 8-7 Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field.
Head coach Doug Pederson said the Eagles will play their starters, despite already clinching the number one seed in the NFC and attaining a crucial first round bye.
The Cowboys plan to play their starters as well, but they were eliminated from the playoffs last week - they are simply playing for pride this game.
Last week against the Oakland Raiders the Eagles’ offense and especially quarterback Nick Foles looked horrendous, accounting for fewer than 200 passing yards and less than 100 rushing yards.
Extra reps for Foles and the offense is clearly needed, so even if the Eagles’ starters only play for a half they will gain some sort of improved chemistry with each other, something desperately needed In the post season.
Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery had zero receptions last game, that must change for the Eagles. Foles has to gain comfort with his offensive weapons or the Eagles do not stand a chance once the playoffs arrive in Philadelphia.
It is unknown how long the starters will play for both teams, Cowboys Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliot and the rest of their starters will most likely play for at least three quarters.
In the last game of the season the Eagles’ defense dominates due to their depth and will show they are a Super Bowl caliber defense.
Eagles win 23-13.
Philadelphia will not play again until the second round of the playoffs, which starts Jan. 13 2018.
