After a very impressive Thursday Night game against AFC east rival Buffalo Bills, the New York Jets are heading to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay (2-6) is coming off a 30-10 lose to the New Orleans Saints last week, have not been meeting expectations at all the season, and now will be without their starting quarterback due to injury and their best wide receiver Mike Evans due to a suspension. So now the Jets will be taking on their former quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in what I like to call the journeymen bowl. So to get you prepared for sunday, here is what to expect and how the Jets can come away with the win:
The Jets put up 194 yards against the Buffalo Bills, so there is no question that they will need to continue that against the Bucs and they are 3-1 when they run with 100 yards or over. I expect that Austin Seferian-Jenkins will be the heavy targeted player, being that he is returning to Tampa Bay for the first time since he has been released. Josh McCown will have to continue to be consistent with the ball, he has the third best completion rating in the NFL.
The Defense will be facing Ryan Fitzpatrick, a quarterback who can be one of two personalities who I like to call Fitzmagic or Fitz Tragic. They need to make sure that they create the Fitz Tragic by putting pressure on him like they did with Tyrod Taylor. They simply collapsed the pocket on him and they’re going to have to do it again and forcing him to be a gunslinger. The X factor will be the secondary as they will be going up against Desean Jackson who is still pretty fast and the their two tight ends Connor Brate and OJ Howard.
The Jets have a chance to get back to .500 with a win on Sunday, and they can really make a name for themselves. The Jets who have been a surprising team this year, can even make an even more surprise by competing for a playoff spot.
