Midweek Recap: Jets Lose Another Tough One to AFC East Rival Miami Dolphins by Kevin Lidlow

Well as if you were frustrated already at the New York Jets, this game was definitely another reason why you should, as they lose to the Miami Dolphins 31 to 28 in a game where the Jets have committed 12 penalties for 124 yards (most came from Buster Skrine) and blew a 14 point lead. I understand that the New York Jets season is about being competitive and development but they are 3-4 this season, nobody thought they would even win a game and plus they looked great to begin the game, so no doubt this game they should have won. Defense: Regardless of the many penalties that came on the Jets defense, I still think they did a pretty good job. They recorded three sacks that came from Jamal Adams, Josh Martin, and Demario Davis, but again nothing for the defensive line. They were able to get in the backfield and wreak havoc on the quarterback and running back, Muhammad Wilkerson recorded an interception as well as Marcus Maye. They also kept Jay Ajayi in check as he carried the ball 23 times for 53 yards. But again the penalties really killed this team and results were on the scoreboard, that being said I grade this defense a B+ Offense: The offense for the second straight week in a row got off to a great start as McCown scored on his first two drives of the game and it looked like it was going to be a breakout game for him but the offense was put on silent late in the second half. He finished the game 17 for 27 with 209 yards, 3 TD’s and an interception that came within the last two minutes of the game after Miami tied it. The run game was nonexistent as they recorded a total of 92 yards on the ground and the offensive line gave up 3 sacks. I was impressed by how quickly they started the game and they won the turnover battle but you have to be able to finish games, with that being said I grade the offense a solid B. Coaching: I thought the coaching staff needed to do a better job making halftime adjustments because they would get their team off to a great start but fail to change things up in the second half, which is why they lost their second straight game. I grade the coaching staff a C-
