Jets vs Dolphins: Week 7 Preview by Kevin Lidlow

The New York Jets will be looking to get a season sweep on their AFC east rival Miami Dolphins, who have seen to find their rhythm now offensively and a big reason why is running back Jay Ajayi. Miami is coming off a comeback win against defending NFC champs Atlanta Falcons, and Ajayi was a big reason carrying the ball majority of the second half as he finished the game with 26 carries for 130 yards on the ground. The Jets however are coming off a 24 to 17 loss to the New England Patriots in a game where they got off to a great start but collapsed in the second half. If the Jets are to win this game here's what they have to do:

The Jets have three division games in a span of four weeks, they played the Pats last week, play the Dolphins on sunday, and play the Bills week 9 on thursday night. They are surprising everyone this year at 3-3 but they need to get back on track starting with coming away with a win against the Dolphins. In their first matchup they held Ajayi for 11 carries with 30 yards and forced two turnovers against Miami. The defense has to do the same this week as the key to Miami’s offense is Ajayi, he put the team on his back last week against the Falcons and seems like he is the key for this offensive unit. The Jets defensive line has to contain the running back and put pressure on Cutler, forcing him to make his usual bad throws.

The X-factor of this game is quarterback Josh McCown, who has the third best passer rating in the NFL. The offense will be getting back Bilal Powell this week as I would like to see them use him and Mcguire more, and using Forte in passing situations. The Jets have to win the turnover battle as they did in the first matchup against Miami.
