Brandon's Best Bets: Week 4

Week 3 saw lots of upsets and some teams righting the ship after a disappointing start. Let’s see if we have a better feel for the landscape of the NFL as we take a look at the spreads for week 4. All lines used from Bovada.

New Orleans Saints (-3) at Miami Dolphins

Bovada is treating this as a toss-up. Giving the Saints the typical road team -3. The only problem is the Dolphins aren’t really at home but rather in Wembley Stadium in London, England. The Saints defense is atrocious and the Dolphins did look good week 2. Last week though, we saw Josh McCown march up and down the field with the Jets tepid offensive personnel. It’s hard to see the Dolphins keep this close against Drew Brees and his arsenal which is adding Willie Snead this week.

Buffalo Bills (+8) at Atlanta Falcons

We assumed the Bills would do nothing against the Broncos ferocious defense last week but they still managed to put up 26 points. Atlanta’s defense is just as ferocious and I expect them to win but 8 points is a mighty big cushion.

New England Patriots (-9) vs Carolina Panthers

The Patriots love to blow games out. They never take their foot off the gas and always play to run up the score no matter the quarter. Their defense is nothing to write home about but if Newton and the Panthers couldn’t get right against the Saints defense, I don’t expect them to fair much better vs New England. Swallow the points and watch Brady light this one up.
