After an underwhelming start to his career, is it time for Nelson Agholor to finally breakout?
Entering his third season, Agholor has just managed 648 yards and three touchdowns in his career. For a first round pick, those numbers have first round bust written all over them.
However, with a new wide receiver coach in town and a totally rejuvenated and focused Agholor, it is about time he break outs.
This spring Agholor looked like a totally different person. He had a great start to the offseason and he had many beat writers praising his play.
He even had praise from quarterback Carson Wentz saying he looked fast and focused.
In OTAs and mini camp, Agholor was lining up in the slot. We know from his college years that this is his natural position.
Is it possible Agholor plays almost most of his snaps this season in the slot?
Jordan Matthews is the Eagles slot receiver, but we saw him move around a lot. With some new wide receivers in town, there is not much room for Agholor outside.
However, this move to the slot can be a turning point in his career. Not only because it is more natural, the pressure of producing is finally off his shoulders.
Agholor now has his natural position and the pressure off his shoulders. It is the season for Agholor to breakout and start being the receiver we all know he can be.
