The Eagles decided to address the defensive line on day one, what will they address on day 2?
Even though the Eagles fixed a need last night, they still have a bunch of needs they have to address. The Eagles desperately need a cornerback or two. They could also use another linebacker, running back and offensive lineman.
Luckily for them, the board looks to be in their favor going into the second round. They are in prime position to get a first-round talent at both cornerbacks and running back.
Cornerback is the Eagles biggest need by a country mile, however, one player to look out for in the second round is Dalvin Cook. The Eagles showed a lot of interest in Cook.
Cook is a home-run threat running back and would do the Eagles offense wonders. The Eagles need to bring the run game back to Philadelphia and by drafting Cook, they would be doing that.
However, at this pick in the second round, the Eagles cannot go wrong taking a cornerback as well. Players available for the Eagles in round 2 will be Washington CB Kevin King, Florida CBs Quincy Wilson and Teez Tabor and Colorado CB Chidobe Awuzie. All of those CBs are first round worthy.
I fully expect the Eagles to pick a cornerback and running back today with their second and third round pick. It really comes down to if Cook falls. If he falls, I cannot see the Eagles passing him up.
Day 2 Mock Draft:
Round Two Pick 43: Florida St RB Dalvin Cook
The Eagles cannot go wrong here. Cooks is a home-run threat running back and can change the game at any given carry.
Cook fits the Eagles offense very well because he also is a threat in the receiving game. He is arguably the best running back in this whole draft, but injury concerns are the reason he drops this far. But, like I said, in the second round, he is too good to pass up.
Round Three Pick 99: Central Florida CB Shaquill Griffin
Griffin is an athletic freak. He has great size and is a playmaker at the cornerback position.
Griffin visited the Eagles and supposedly, the visit went well. He is a little raw, but it seems the Eagles and DB coach Cory Undlin are eager to work with him. He will compete for a starting job and mature into a top talent.
