Currently, the Eagles have a roster which houses a bunch of needs, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Having a franchise quarterback, the Eagles cannot waste any time surrounding him with weapons. That is why this offseason is so crucial, the Eagles need to continue to develop Wentz and give him some help while doing so.
Firstly, the lack of receivers on this team is apparent. Aside from Jordan Matthews, there is no other viable option. Together, Nelson Agholor, Dorial Green-Beckham, Paul Turner, and Bryce Treggs managed just 963 yards receiving. Wentz needs people to throw to, the Eagles need to get some offensive weapons.
Another area of need is the running back position. With Ryan Mathews likely gone and the aging Darren Sproles, the Eagles are in quite the conundrum. However, this draft offers the Eagles a chance at a true bell cow running back. The running game is just as crucial to a quarterback's success as having good receivers. A good running game opens everything up.
Also, eventually, the Eagles will have some offensive line decisions. Eventually they will need a new tackle and guard. And, with the reports of a possible Jason Kelce release, they will need a new center. Securing the line is going to be vital for any sort of offensive success.
This is why this offseason will be so crucial. The Eagles cannot delay the development of Carson Wentz. Surrounding Wentz with weapons and securing the offense will be vital.
