Philadelphia Eagles release Josh Huff

The Philadelphia Eagles have released wide receiver Josh Huff after being arrested two days prior for DUI, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana, illegal possession of a firearm, and the possession of 6 hollow-tip bullets.

Huff was drafted by Philadelphia in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The third-year receiver has amassed a career total of 482 yards and just 72 this season. The wideout also served as kickoff returner in a special teams unit that ranks number one in the NFL.

This is the second issue regarding firearms for the Eagles organization this season. Linebacker Nigel Bradham was arrested for possessing a gun in his carry-on bag at Miami International Airport on October 9. Bradham is still with the Eagles.

“This was about gathering all the information and making the right move for the Philadelphia Eagles. We did not want to rush to judgment,” said general manager Howie Roseman. “Over the last 48 hours, when we when through this process, we thought this was the best decision for the Philadelphia Eagles.”

The Eagles receiving core is currently one of the worse in the league, and with the loss of Huff, this issue should only become heightened in their upcoming game against the New York Giants this Sunday.
