The Jets fan base may have received a jolt of energy thanks to the newly acquired general manager Mike Maccagnan. A change of face in the front office is not the only thing that could have excited such passionate fans off a disappointing 4-12 season. In free agency the Maccagnan made an absolute “splash”, acquiring well-known candidates such Darrelle Revis, Antonio Cromartie, Buster Skrine, and others. Making the Jets a well-rounded threat on both sides of the football, which may seem foreign to some fans for the past 5+ years. Maccagnan has shown his ability to improve the team at all costs spending upwards of $50M in free agency for proven commodities and through trade acquiring pro bowl wide receiver Brandon Marshall. During the draft, Maccagnan showed Jets fans he would willingly make trades if the opportunities were there. Making a total of four trades in the process, our GM acquired former Texans Devier Posey and Ryan Fitzpatrick, along with former Rams running back Zac Stacy, also in addition to drafting OLB Lorenzo Mauldin and quarterback Bryce Petty on later picks. Some experts believe the Jets have drastically improved their roster enough to threaten a win of the AFC East division while others believe they’re a QB away. One thing is for sure though; GM Maccagnan has added enough pieces for the Jets to have at least improve upon a 4-12 record… we hope.
