Interstate of Green: Final Mock Draft 4.0

Rich Wilhelm @koda522

1 Bengals- Joe Burrow- QB (LSU)

This is a no brainer. There would be competition with Tua here if not for injuries but Burrow is lightyears ahead now. Burrow is healthy and ready to be a franchise quarterback. Will he be better than Andy Dalton? Better start gathering weapons, Cincinnati.

2 Redskins- Chase Young- Edge (Ohio State)

3 Lions- Jeff Okudah- CB (Ohio State)

Lions are sitting very pretty in this draft and have flexibility to trade down. I do not buy the rumors of them taking a QB at 3.

4 Giants- Isaiah Simmons- LB (Clemson)

5 Dolphins- Tua Tagovailoa- QB (Alabama)

Dolphins get their franchise QB who can rest a year behind Fitzmagic.

6 Chargers- Justin Herbert- QB (Oregon)

Is this a reach? Absolutely. Do I think Jordan Love is better? No. The drop off after Herbert is bigger than others expect. Pull the trigger and roll the dice.

7 Panthers- Derrick Brown- DT (Auburn)

8 Cardinals- Tristan Wirfs- OT (Iowa)

9 (*TRADE w/ Jaguars) Falcons- CJ Henderson- CB (Florida)

One of the biggest risers in the draft and a target the Falcons have been linked to in a trade up scenario. The Jags taking Henderson here makes perfect sense also but as you’ll see later the Jags end up with the 2nd best CB in this class in my opinion later. Kendall Sheffield is not the answer for Atlanta. Henderson is an instant upgrade.

10 Browns- Mekhi Becton- OT (Louisville)

11 Jets- Ceedee Lamb- WR (Oklahoma)

Darnold to Lamb is going to be the closest thing the Jets have had since Pennington to Chrebet. This combo will be exciting for the next decade. OT is vital but I expect the Jets to tackle that another way. Trent Williams/Jason Peters/Round 2

12 Raiders- Henry Ruggs III- WR- (Alabama)

13 49ers- Jerry Jeudy-WR (Alabama)

14 Bucs- Jedrick Wills- OT (Alabama)

15 Broncos- Andrew Thomas- OT (Georgia)

Possibly the safest prospect in the entire draft. Thomas dominated at Georgia and is the prototypical left tackle in the NFL.

16 (*TRADE w/ Falcons) Jaguars- K’Lavon Chaisson- Edge (LSU)

The perfect contingency plan for Yannick is to draft his replacement. I think if the Jags land Chaisson here Ngakoue is all but gone. He clearly does not want to be in Jacksonville and a trade will allow the Jags to possibly get back into the first round not once (20) but two more times.

17 Cowboys- Xavier McKinney- S (Alabama)

18 Dolphins- AJ Epenesa- Edge (Iowa)

19 Raiders- Javon Kinlaw- DL (South Carolina)

20 Jaguars- Kristian Fulton- CB (LSU)

21 Eagles- Justin Jefferson- WR (LSU)

Could the Eagles trade up for a wide receiver? Absolutely. Could they get the steal of the draft by staying at 21? Absolutely. Justin Jefferson is one of the biggest climbers in this years draft and for good reason. Jefferson knows how to score touchdowns and he played against the best competition. He’s a champion and could be the healthy WR1 the Eagles are lacking. Alshon could be gone and if he’s not you’ll find him on the sidelines anyway.

22 Vikings- Denzel Mims- WR (Baylor)

Denzel Mims catches everything thrown his way. One handed, jump balls, he finds the ball at the highest point. He played with a broken hand, imagine him playing with two healthy hands? Diggs who?

23 Patriots- Jordan Love- QB (Utah)

24 Saints- Kenneth Murray- LB (Oklahoma)

25 Vikings- Jeff Gladney- CB (TCU)

26 Dolphins- D’Andre Swift- RB (Georgia)

27 Seahawks- Grant Delpit- S (LSU)

28 Ravens- Patrick Queen- LB (LSU)

29 Titans- Josh Jones- OT (Houston)

30 Packers- Neville Gallimore- IDL (Oklahoma)

31 49ers- Ross Blacklock- DT (TCU)

32 Chiefs- Cesar Ruiz- IOL (Michigan)

Kevin Lidlow @klidlow65

  1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow QB LSU: The Bengals had a quiet offseason with their acquisitions, but come draft time they will make a big move by getting the best quarterback in the draft.

  2. Washington Redskins: Chase Young Edge Ohio St: The redskins are more likely to stick with Haskins or Kyle Allen as their quarterback. Therefore they will not take a new quarterback but they will get the edge rusher.

  3. Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah CB Ohio St: All signs appear that the Lions might be moving on from corner Darius Slay and they will need a successor.

  4. NY Giants: Jedrick Wills Jr. OT Alabama: The Giants will continue to build on their offensive line by replacing Nate Soldier with Wills.

  5. Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa QB Alabama: Turns out that the Dolphins didn’t have to move anywhere to get their quarterback.

  6. LA Chargers: Justin Herbert QB Oregon: The Chargers have let go of Rivers and will look to add a veteran quarterback, but will also look to find their long term replacement.

  7. Carolina Panthers: Isaiah Simmons LB Clemson: With the sudden retirement of Kuechly, The Panthers are in need of a linebacker.

  8. Arizona Cardinals: Derrick Brown DL Auburn: How the Cardinals were able to trade for the best receiver in the game without losing their first round pick is just incredible. In that case, they will focus on their defense in this draft.

  9. Jacksonville Jaguars: CJ Henderson CB Florida: There has been rumors that Henderson could fall in the top 10, maybe even go sooner than Okudah but I see him going to the Jaguars with the ninth pick.

  10. Cleveland Browns: Mekhl Becton OL Louisville: The Browns probably need the most help on the offensive line and since they would miss out on Trent Williams, Becton would be the obvious choice here.

  11. Denver Broncos (via New York Jets): CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma: After trading with the Jets, I can see the Broncos looking to build the receiver corp to compliment Lock and Sutton.

  12. Las Vegas Raiders: Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama: The Raiders need to continue to get some more weapons on the offense. I like Jeudy with this pick here.

  13. San Francisco 49ers(via Colts): Henry Rugg 3 WR Alabama: The 49ers shocked everyone last year and now they need to build their receiver core.

  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tristan Wirfs OL Iowa: They got the future hall of famer, now they will look to add some guys to protect him. Wirfs would be a great addition because he could play multiple spots.

  15. New York Jets (via Denver): Andrew Thomas OL Georgia: The Jets loaded up on picks, and they even made a big trade to get Trent Williams on day 3 of the draft. Now they win the perfect scenario by only losing a third and fifth then getting a second and third back to make big moves on day 2. Plus it adds depth and competition for Edoga.

  16. Atlanta Falcons: Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma: The Falcons will look to keep boosting the defense in the draft, as they try to get younger and rebuild.

  17. Dallas Cowboys: Trevon Diggs CB Alabama: The Cowboys over did themselves with these big spendings and now they will likely get rid of one of their top corners, so they will need to replace him.

  18. Miami Dolphins: Josh Jones OL Houston: They draft a quarterback and they add some protection to help keep him upright.

  19. Las Vegas Raiders (via Chicago): Kristian Fulton CB LSU: The Raiders got the second best receiver and now they turn their focus to defense here.

  20. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Rams): Xavier McKinney S Alabama: The Jaguars have to get younger in the secondary. McKinney will be a nice addition for them.

  21. Philadelphia Eagles: Tee Higgins WR Clemson: The Eagles need receivers and they are coming off the board in a hurry. The Eagles squeeze one in to get Higgins without losing picks.

  22. Minnesota Vikings: Jaylon Johnson CB Utah: The Vikings have a ton of holes to fill after their cuts in the offseason. I can see them filling the corner spot here.

  23. New England Patriots: Jacob Eason QB Washington: It’s time that the Patriots start looking for Brady’s successor, especially since they might get rid of him.

  24. New Orleans Saints: : Patrick Queen LB LSU: The Saints will look to get younger with their linebacking core. Patrick Queen could help fill the void.

  25. Minnesota Vikings: Javon Kinlaw DL South Carolina: Adding some depth to a formidable defensive line should help the Vikings make a run in 2020.

  26. Miami Dolphins (via Texans): Jonathon Taylor RB Wisconsin: The first running back is taken off the board and the Dolphins could use some depth after signing Jordan Howard.

  27. Seattle Seahawks: Yetur Gross-Matos Edge Penn St. The Seahawks have recreated their secondary, now they need an edge rusher. Clowney looks like he was a rental, they need a long term solution.

  28. Baltimore Ravens: Terrell Lewis Edge Alabama: The Ravens will likely tag and trade Judon, so they will add an edge rusher in the draft that won’t cost them much.

  29. Tennessee Titans: Julian Okwara Edge Notre Dame: The Titans need to get younger on their defensive line, especially a pass rusher.

  30. Green Bay Packers: Jalen Reagor WR TCU: The Packers should add some more weapons for Rodgers if they want any chance of contending.

  31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (via 49ers). Julian Love QB Utah St. The Buccaneers make a trade with the 49ers and they draft a new quarterback to replace Winston.

  32. Kansas City Chiefs: Bryce Hall CB Virginia: The Super Bowl Champs will need to help boost their defense again by adding some secondary help.

John Hazelet @JohnHazelet475

  1. Bengals: QB: Joe Burrow: The Bengals take a local kid with the hopes he can be the answer they have been looking for.

  2. Redskins: Edge: Chase Young: Young is this years “premier” pass rusher. Young can be the Redskins version of Nick Bosa. Now, can Washington build around him?

  3. Lions: CB: Jeff Okudah: I can go in a lot of directions here.. QB, Edge, OL or a trade down. Okudah is the Slay replacement but Tua, Herbert, Simmons or a trade down all would make sense to me.

  4. Chargers: QB: Justin Herbert: Chargers got their last franchise QB via draft day trade with the Giants so why not again? In a need to jump the Dolphins to get the QB I feel will be the best in this class, the Charges give up a 2 and 4 this year which actually slightly over paying based on the draft trade chart.

  5. Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa: It will be interesting to see if the Dolphins still go Tua if Herbert is off the board. With all their draft capital I say they do. I cant argue with Tua’s talent but his durability is a huge question mark and the Dolphins can afford to take this risk. I can also question his on field ability. Alabama is loaded with talent and I wonder if Tua play in an environment when everything isn’t perfect? Big question..

  6. Giants: OL: Tristan Wirfs: Dave Gettleman in his first ever draft trade down hits it out of the park with the best lineman in the draft. Wirfs is a beast who comes from the Iowa O-line factory. I can also see Isaiah Simmons or Becton in this spot.

  7. Panthers: LB/S: Isaiah Simmons: Matt Ruhle does back flips that he gets an athlete of this caliber. Panthers are actually a pivot point in this draft. They can go OL, DL or a possible trade down as well.

  8. Cardinals: OL: Jedrick Wills: A few weeks ago I would have had CeeDee Lamb in this spot but after stealing De Andre Hopkins (may have been at gunpoint) the Cards draft their RT to protect their franchise QB.

  9. Jaguars: CB: CJ Henderson: The Jags can go in many directions but I think Henderson will be their pick. Losing Bouye and Ramsey leaves a huge hole in that secondary.

  10. Browns: OL: Mekhi Becton: Landing Conklin in free agency gives the Browns some nice options in this spot. I say they double down and add some more protection with a guy who I feel has the highest ceiling of all available OL in this draft.

  11. Jets: WR: Henry Ruggs III: If Becton is available I think he is the pick, I can also see Andrew Thomas or CeeDee Lamb. The Jets did a decent job of filling some holes at OL in free agency, I think there is a lot of work to still do there and I can make a case for Andrew Thomas but I just cant look past the most dynamic playmaker in the draft at this spot. If this pick is not Ruggs or Becton, I wouldn’t mind a trade down between 12-16.

  12. Raiders: WR: CeeDee Lamb: I think the Raiders pine for Ruggs but would be very Happy to add Lamb to their offense. Somewhere Derek Carr smiles..

  13. 49ers: DT: Derrick Brown: The 9ers built their team with a heavy focus on the D-line. With the trade of Buckner DT becomes a need and they get the best one in the draft. Ruggs, Jeudy or Justin Jefferson are also possibilities

  14. Buccs: OL: Andrew Thomas: This is the safe pick to protect their newly acquired aging QB.. Some guy named Brady?

  15. Broncos: WR: Jerry Jeudy: This is a need for the Broncos and they get what may be the best in class. They may have to go up from 15 to land him.

  16. Falcons: DT: Javon Kinlaw: Adding Fowler in free agency takes Edge off of their draft needs, adding Kinlaw gives them a nice pair to go with Grady Jarrett

  17. Cowboys: S: Xavier McKinney: Need position for the Cowboys. With the ability to play both Safety spots I think he is a starter the day he walks in the building.

  18. Dolphins: OL: Joshua Jones: 6’7” 320lbs. The Dolphins need to protect their earlier investment and Jones is a bit of an under the radar player who most have projected later in round 1. I can also see him being a Jets target if they trade down from 11.

  19. Raiders: LB: Kenneth Murray: Secondary and DL is also a need here but I don’t see them passing on Murray who can be a dynamic playmaker on defense.

  20. Jaguars: WR: Justin Jefferson: After addressing the secondary with pick 9 the Jags give their young QB a toy to play with. Jefferson has good size and speed and can be a big red zone threat for the Jags.

  21. Eagles: LB: Patrick Queen: I know.. they have a HUGE need at WR and I think they will address that in other rounds and other ways. Queen can be an immediate impact on defense and could be too good to pass.

  22. Vikings: WR: Tee Higgins: Replacement for Diggs and a nice compliment to Theilen.

  23. Panthers: QB: Jordan Love: Panthers give Patriots their 2 this year and 3 next year to come back in round 1 to grab their future franchise QB.

  24. Saints: LB: Jordan Brooks: Need spot for the Saints, they add a blazing quick LB to their defense. I could also see them going WR in this spot to load up for Brees. Maybe Aiyuk?

  25. Vikings: OL: Isiah Wilson: Vikings need to improve in the trenches and Wilson is a nice addition to protect Cousins and open holes for Cook in the run game.

  26. Dolphins: RB: D’Andre Swift: Dolphins use all 3 first rounders to improve their offense. Swift is dynamic and is the best RB in this draft.

  27. Seattle: Edge: Yetur Gross-Matos: Clowney is all but gone and they need to fill those shoes. Possible trade down in this spot also.

  28. Ravens: LB: Zack Baun: Need spot for Ravens. Baun has the ability to rush the passer and also drop in coverage.

  29. Titans: OL: Ezra Cleveland: Losing Conklin leaves an opening for a big OT. Cleveland fits the bill.

  30. Packers: WR: Brandon Aiyuk: Aaron Rodgers is no spring chicken and he could use a playmaker. That is what Aiyuk is. Great speed and ability to score every time he touches the ball. Will help in return game also. Jordan Love if available is possible.

  31. Patriots: TE: Harrison Bryant: Patriots trade back in round 1 and take the drafts top TE. QB is still TBD (I think it will be Jarrett Stidham) but taking Bryant will be a nice red zone safety valve for whomever is their QB.

  32. Chiefs: C: Cesar Ruiz: Center is a need but I would not be shocked if they went with a complimentary player at a different position or would trade out of the round. When you return basically every starter from your Championship team, you have plenty of options.

2. Washington Redskins - Chase Young - DE Ohio

3. Detriot Lions - Jeff Okudah - CB Ohio

4. New York Giants - Tristan Wirfs - T Iowa

5. Miami Dolphins - Justin Herbert - QB Oregon

6. New England Patriots - Tua Tagovailoa - QB Alabama (Pick # 23, #87, #98 and 2021 1st, 2021 2nd ----> LA Chargers)

The Patriots make the dreaded move that will have us banging our heads on the coffee table for the foreseeable future. After one month of freedom, its time to get back to work to ensure that the AFC East can be wrestled away from Bill. The Patriots seemingly giving up on Lawrence next year will make Jets fans happy but Belichick is getting exactly what he wants in Tua. The AFC needs to get to work on their edge rushing.

7. Carolina Panthers - Isaiah Simmons - LB Clemson

8. Arizona Cardinals - Derrick Brown - DT Auburn

9. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jedrick Wills - T Alabama

10. Cleveland Browns - Mekhi Becton - LT Louisville

11. Atlanta Falcons - CJ Henderson - CB Florida (Pick # 16, # 47, and 2021 2nd, 2021 3rd ---> New York Jets)

Joe Douglas does his due diligence to Jets fans by fielding phone calls and building draft capital. The Falcons want to move up and Douglas happily obliges.

12. Las Vegas Raiders - Ceedee Lamb - WR Oklahoma

13. San Francisco 49ers - Henry Ruggs III - WR Alabama

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Andrew Thomas - T Georgia

15. Denver Broncos - Jerry Jeudy - WR Alabama

16. New York Jets - Joshua Jones - T Houston

With the move back, the Jets take Joshua Jones, and underrated tackle from Houston that is uniquely athletic with a high ceiling. Douglas is interested in players that have unique athletic ability and talent over raw size and power. Altough the first four tackles were tempting, he gets his wish with this pick.

17. Dallas Cowboys - Javon Kinlaw - DT South Carolina

18. Miami Dolphins - Austin Jackson - T USC

19. Las Vegas Raiders - A.J. Terrell - CB Clemson

20. Jacksonville Jaguars - K'Lavon Chaisson - Edge LSU

23. LA Chargers - Jordan Love - QB Utah State

24. New Orleans Saints - Tee Higgins - WR Clemson

  8. Arizona Cardinals- Jedrick Wills OT Best tackle falls to the cards.

  9. TRADE w/ Jacksonville- San Francisco 49ers- CeeDee Lamb WR Kyle Shanahan comes up to get a difference maker.

  10. Cleveland Browns- Mekhi Becton OT The Browns analytics falls in love with Becton’s outlier size and athleticism.

  11. New York Jets- Andrew Thomas OT A solid if not elite tackle who can step in right away challenging Doug Fant for his job at LT.

  12. Las Vegas Raiders- Jerry Jeudy WR The Raiders get an Amari Cooper clone.
