Brandon Turner’s Best Bets: Week 9

FINALLY. We got that sweet sweet 3-0 week to bring our betting numbers to 12-13 on the year. Shoutout to Ryan Fitzpatrick for the assist in the dolphins game. Glad he got all that magic out of the way in the first half so the Jets can savage him on Sunday. This week we’re upping the ante and going 6-0.

New York Jets (-3) at Miami Dolphins I know the Jets have looked miserable, basically every week but one, but this team is simply more talented than the dolphins, especially after they lost their star CB to injury last week. The Jets have had more time to prepare, and this is their first easy opponent following a brutal first-half schedule. Take the Jets minus 3.

Green Bay Packers -3.5 at Los Angeles Chargers The Chargers are a pitiful team that is on the verge of collapse. They fired their offensive coordinator this week AFTER A WIN! The Packers have Rodgers and a surprisingly stingy defense that pairs well with a suddenly resurgent run game. Expect them to put this game away in the second half.

Cleveland Browns -4 at Denver Broncos The Broncos are starting Brandon Allen this week at starting QB, shifting this line to -4 from +1. The Browns have been spinning their wheels on a team full of talent but it’s hard to see them not being able to eventually Chubb their way to victory against what should be a one dimensional Bronco’s offense. Take the Browns minus 4.

Indianapolis +1 at Pittsburgh Steelers I can’t believe this is the line for this game. All the steelers have is their pass rush and no one is pushing around that Colts offensive line. Mason Rudolph might be able to hang in there and throw ducks versus the dolphins but it’s going to be a different story versus Brissett. If we’re ever getting points to bet on the better team, take the bet.

Philadelphia Eagles -3 vs Chicago Bears The Eagles have finally figured out a formula that works for them sans any type of secondary or Desean Jackson (who may or may not play.) That is pounding the hell out of the ball with Jordan Howard. The Bears have been surprisingly vulnerable against the run this season and you just know Howard is going to be amped up to face his old team. Also Trubisky is terrible. Eagles minus 3.

New England Patriots -3 at Baltimore Ravens I would love to be wrong about this one but it’s hard to see how the Ravens get consistent points here. The Patriots are stout against the run, they always take away what you do best (so they’ll be spying Lamar) and their secondary will be very difficult for a young QB to consistently throw against. On the flipside the Ravens secondary has looked mediocre all season, I expect a big game from Edelman and a Pats win.
